Are you on a healing journey?
In its rawest form, a healing journey is the process of deconstruction and reconstruction. Breaking down those patterns and beliefs, that were born as survival strategies, and discovering and building new ways of being that reflect our true authentic self and bring inner well-being and wholeness.
Maybe you have been on a healing journey for some time now but you always seem to hit a plateau. Things might be improving incrementally but you know this can’t be it and that there is more for you to discover in your healing process. Something that will bring you personal peace, and a whole and integrated way of feeling, of being in relationship with yourself and others, and of moving through this world.

Feel it to heal it… the somatic approach

Many of those on the healing journey will likely have heard the phrase, “you’ve got to feel it to heal it.” But that can be easier said then done, which may be why it is an often overlooked aspect of healing, and why many, prioritize the top-down approaches of the cognitive mind and quick-fixes. However, the survival strategies we have developed — those patterns that once protected us but now keep us stuck in our pain — are a direct result of the nervous system detecting threat and deploying the fight-flight-freeze response, which informs how we react.
Working at the somatic level of the nervous system, and with the sensations that the nervous system generates when in threat, we are working at the root cause of where our fear, pain points, and patterns were first born, rather than forcing ourselves into behaving or thinking differently. We work with what is happening in the body so we can complete and release the stress response patterns that were never able to fully express in the first place allowing us to integrate that energy into our experience rather than being subject to its continual triggering.
Somatic healing brings more safety, stability, and connection into your way of being, clearing the way for YOU to emerge from underneath the patterns that have bound you.
